The 9th Rome Grand Prix Italy in May 1947 was a very important day in Ferrari history as this was the day when Ferrari won its 1st race. The little 125 S (Car number 56) driven by Franco Cortese took the lead from the start on the Terme Di Caracalla Circuit. Ferraris long and successful career started with Franco Cortese.
