We have prepared our HB Special for a monster drive. The 24 hours Horneland rally. And its this week Friday!!! Above you can see the extra lights that we have made detachable... We will need them because about 10-11 hours of driving will be in the dark. If you wish to read more about the rally click here.
Apart from the lights, we have added:
- Heated seats
- Extreme weather overalls which we got from the army
- Special night goggles
- Extra clocks - timers that count down
- Min and max temp meter to give you feedback on how bad it was!!
- Winter tyres - almost 50% of the roads were white 5 days ago!!
Test run tommorrow night probably in the rain! To test our new full weather overalls... we will probably look like 2 michelin men!! But then in Green...

Can't wait to read about this adventure! The extra driving lights look good. Nice touch that you made them detachable. And heated seats, night goggles... High tech stuff guys! (well, in this car it is)Have fun! - Good luck | By: Fredddy De Petter on 22-02-2010 14:31:16:

sounds all very interesting, a real advnture ! wish you a lot of succes - Waste of money and weight | By: Peter Schaad on 22-02-2010 19:35:15:
Heated Seats? Total waste of money and weight. Your bum won't be cold. When I drove my supercharged unheated open MG TC through the French Alps in the 1991 Monte Carlo Challenge at minus 20 Celsius, my hands and feet felt like in Nepal at 25,000 ft; even the extremities of my torso were fine! Have fun anyway. - Question | By: Barry Smith on 22-02-2010 21:29:23:
What happened to the supercharged MGTC? - MG TC Barry Smith | By: Peter Schaad on 22-02-2010 23:07:04:
Made it - like her owner - all the way from Edinburgh via Baden-Baden via Aix-les-Bains to Monte Carlo, both suffering from frost bite. - Take the other car... | By: Thierry on 23-02-2010 14:50:34:

What an tremendous car! You passed me a couple of times during the Hornelandrally, and it was a real pleasure to see you working in the open air. But what happened in the end, why didn't you finished? - The End | By: Tino Huet on 02-03-2010 10:33:53:
Hi Thomas, we finished the rally at the wrong point... So the last TC which was supposed to be on the ramp we missed and went straight to the breakfast place, after which we still went to the ramp but left the papers at the breakfast place.... All in all a great trip - stage 1 was hell with the rain and the wet snow storm - the maps were drenched and we had no other alternative then to follow a car in front. Our suits which were supposed to be waterproof leaked through our arms and neks and filled the suit with a nice little puddle... which was extremely annoying when the night came in and cold.... bloody cold. The second stint was ok. The night was dry and clear.... which also gave us some black ice... not visible and very dangerous!!! Cold enough to freeze up parts of the road. The third stint from 6 am to 11 was fine, except for that last Time Control which we swapped... shame though we would have atleast had a ranking....
